Rossa O'Donnell

Rossa O'Donnell

Director - Risk Management

Rossa O’Donnell has more than 35 years’ experience across military service, security, risk management and corporate consultancy. He served for 18 years as an officer in the Irish Defence Forces, including four overseas deployments with UN and EU multinational forces in the Middle East and Africa. His military career included service with the Army Ranger Wing, where he held operations and intelligence roles and served as Deputy Commander.

Since leaving the Defence Forces, Rossa has applied his operational experience in the corporate environment, advising organisations on security, operational risk and the protection of personnel and assets in Ireland and internationally. His specialist expertise includes threat and risk assessment, crisis management, business continuity, personnel security, intelligence, close protection and travel security.

Ian Thornton

Ian Thornton

Director - Security Operations

Ian Thornton has extensive operational and training experience gained over 23 years of service with the Irish Defence Forces. He held a range of operational and training appointments, including Special Forces deployments to challenging environments such as Mali, Chad and Lebanon, where he gained significant experience in operational planning, leadership and risk management.

Since joining RMI, Ian has specialised in Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT), operational risk and crisis preparedness. He has planned and delivered programmes in Ireland and internationally for major public and private sector organisations. His experience also includes developing and testing contingency arrangements to protect organisations and maintain operations during protest activity and other disruptive events.

Tom Fox

Tom Fox

Senior Consultant - Risk Management

Tom Fox joined RMI after a 34-year career with the Irish Defence Forces, during which he operated at strategic, operational and tactical levels in Ireland and overseas. His experience spans operations management and planning, military intelligence, risk assessment, training development, and leadership, including assignments in complex environments such as Lebanon, Syria, and Kosovo.

At RMI, Tom supports clients across security management, critical infrastructure protection, and business continuity. His work includes security audits and associated risk assessments for critical national infrastructure and major utility and transport organisations. He holds an MA in Leadership, Management & Defence Studies and has completed specialist studies in strategic intelligence analysis and contemporary security.

Niall Duffy

Niall Duffy

Director – Crisis Management

Niall Duffy brings more than 40 years’ combined experience in military and corporate risk management. He served for over 17 years as an officer in the Irish Defence Forces, including service with the Army Ranger Wing, Army Headquarters and the United Nations in the Middle East, before moving into senior consultancy and executive roles with RMI.

Niall specialises in crisis management, business continuity, emergency planning and enterprise risk management. He has advised major public- and private-sector organisations in Ireland and internationally, including clients across the utilities, telecommunications, infrastructure, biotechnology and food and beverage sectors. His work includes developing corporate preparedness frameworks, crisis and continuity programmes, training and exercises, and supporting organisations through complex operational incidents.

Tony O'Brien

Director - Event Risk Management

Tony O’Brien is an experienced security, safety and risk management professional specialising in corporate security, major events, training and programme management. He is the author of The Nightclub Security Manual and has contributed extensively to security industry publications on corporate and hospitality security, operational risk and professional training.

Tony brings extensive practical experience in security and safety operations, risk management, conflict resolution, event planning and security surveying. His career has included senior consultancy, programme management and loss-prevention roles, supported by qualifications in business management, training and education, corporate risk management, major event planning, security management and close protection.

Paddy Brown

Paddy Brown

Director - Data Analysis

Paddy Brown has more than 25 years’ professional experience across financial services, investigations and corporate intelligence. Prior to joining RMI, he spent more than a decade in the financial sector with AIB, Bank of Ireland and Bank of America. He has since spent 16 years with RMI, providing investigative and analytical services to high-profile clients in Ireland and internationally.

Paddy specialises in corporate investigations, intelligence analysis, asset tracing, background checks and the analysis of digital forensic material. His experience includes complex fraud investigations and international asset and background searches across Ireland, the UK, Europe, the United States and Asia, supporting organisations in sectors including construction, transport, energy and financial services.

Chris McSwiney

Chris McSwiney

Chief Financial Officer

Chris McSwiney is a qualified accountant with more than 20 years’ experience in corporate banking and financial services. Following the 2008 financial crisis, he managed the recovery of significant commercial assets for international banks exiting the Irish market. His work included negotiating with corporate borrowers, overseeing asset-tracing assignments and assessing trading companies to determine their profitability, financial position and valuation.

Chris joined RMI in 2023 as Chief Financial Officer, leveraging extensive financial and commercial expertise to support the company’s investigative and advisory services. He advises banks and financial institutions on complex asset recovery issues, including high-risk cases, and has a background in forensic financial analysis, asset tracking, and evaluating corporate financial data.

Eoin Stapleton

Eoin Stapleton

Eoin Stapleton is an experienced senior executive with a strong background in business management, supply chain, operations and organisational leadership. He served for over 13 years as an officer in the Irish Defence Forces, including service abroad in the Middle East, Kosovo, East Timor and Western Sahara. He spent over a decade with Unilever Ireland and Dairygold Consumer Foods in supply chain, operations and HR roles, progressing to Managing Director of the Consumer Foods business. He subsequently spent almost nine years as Managing Director of PRL Group, leading the organisation through a period of expansion and improved business performance.

At RMI, Eoin brings a commercial and strategic perspective to corporate risk and resilience. His expertise spans business and asset management, supply chain optimisation, organisational change, procurement, financial performance, crisis management and business continuity.
